Course Structure
You will have the opportunity to attend one of our two-week courses. These courses are structured to be relaxed and enjoyable, creating an optimal learning environment.
Throughout the course, you will receive support from our experienced instructors, who will assist you with your assessment books. Additionally, you will gain practical experience by conducting lessons in a manual car, honing your teaching skills.
Support and Opportunities
We are committed to supporting you in setting up your own driving school. Furthermore, we will introduce you to established driving schools where you could potentially seek employment.
Starting Your New Career
We recognize that embarking on a new career can be a stressful experience. Our lead instructor, with 30 years of teaching experience, is dedicated to imparting their extensive knowledge and expertise to ensure that we collectively contribute to making our roads safer.
Certification and Licensing
Upon completion of the Certificate IV, it is important to note that the state of South Australia requires an additional test before issuing your license. While we cannot assume responsibility for this test, we will provide you with valuable advice and cover the relevant content to the best of our ability.

What you'll need after you complete your cert IV
You will need to provide:

a resume (196.4 KB PDF) with employment references

a current (no more than three months old) national police check. Apply through SA Police or through organisations accredited by the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC).

a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or a statutory declarationOpen in slide out

a Medical and eyesight certificate (5.3 MB PDF) for all licence classes

proof of identity

a certified copy of a current Certificate IV in Transport Logistics - Road Transport Driving InstructionOpen in slide out

evidence of successfully passing the road rules theory test for MDIs.
How to apply
Fill out the application form (67.3 KB PDF) and lodge it at a Service SA customer service centre with the supporting documents. Applications will be returned if they are not complete and the correct supporting documentation is not attached.
What happens next
You will be notified by email to book a regulator assessment.
If you meet the required standard in the regulator assessment your application and supporting documentation will be sent to the registrar for consideration. If you application is approved you will then need to attend a Service SA customer service centre to:

pay the required licence fee

have your photo taken.
Your photo identification MDI licence will be sent to you. This can take up to two weeks.
You cannot begin training clients until you receive your photo identification MDI licence, however you may use your digital licence.
